We believe that nurturing relationships among staff, residents, and families creates a warm and welcoming community for everyone.  Our activities and celebrations are inclusive and open to all. Not only do we offer daily and weekly scheduled events, like exercise, crafts, and Bible study, but we also include special holiday parties and community outings.   We connect with our neighborhood by fostering intergenerational connections with UNC-A college students, church youth groups, and the toddler/preschool Music Together program.

Brooks-Howell is located one mile from downtown Asheville in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina.  A mile in the other direction, you’ll find our local greenway, the Botanical Gardens, and UNC-Asheville.  Our 10+ acre campus is surrounded by natural woodsy habitat in the Five Points Neighborhood.

From animal welfare to climate change to poverty, Asheville includes many churches and nonprofits addressing social justice issues through advocacy and action.  Brooks-Howell residents not only participate in a variety of organizations but also host events on campus for everyone to attend.
